A source who pleaded anonymity said the suspects who operated without the intervention of either the police or the local vigilance group were yet to be arrested.
“The assailants operated without the intervention of either the police or the local vigilance group just a few metres to the palace of the traditional ruler.
“The couple after taking their dinner went to bed without suspecting any misfortune but the devil came to work at the late hours of the night when the deceased including their neighbours heard some gunshots,” the source added.

A family source who also did not want his name on print revealed that the deceased as had an aged long dispute over land with some relations.
“I’m aware that there have been aged long differences in the family of the deceased and one is left to suspect that what happened may not be unconnected with the crisis,” she said.

He urged members of the public to assist the police with useful information that would help to unravel the killers of the couple.
