2019: Watch your utterances, SDP cautions Oshiomhole

AHEAD of the 2019 general elections, the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, on Monday cautioned the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to watch his utterances so as not overheat the polity ‎ unnecessarily.

The National Secretary of the Party, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam handed down in Abuja yesterday when the party presented the Certificate of return to Senator Iyiola Omisore as its Candidate in the September 22, Governorship election in Osun State.

This came just as the National Chairman of the Party, Chief Olu Falae and its Candidate Senator Omisore declared that the party would not distribute money to the electorate for the Party to win the forthcoming governorship election in the State as the integrity ‎of the party and the vast experience of its Candidate would lead it to victory.

Alhaji Gabam counselled Comrade Oshiomhole that it was high time for him to come to reality that there was a clear difference between being a labour leader and being a National Chairman of a Political Party.

“The man should by now know the differences between being a labour leader and as well being a Chairman of a Political Party, he should stop making reckless and unguarded statement capable of overheating the system unnecessarily.

“He should know that nobody has the monopoly of everything, because if he thinks he can bring that his labour leader togas to bear in Politics, we the political careers are capable to match him up, he should not just overheat the system

“SDP is very intact and focused, it is a Political Party with history, we have not merged with any Political Party we have only signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with some Political parties and we are yet to work out the modalities ‎the MOU will take.”

While presenting the Party’s Certificate of return to Omisore, Chief Falae who was represented by the Deputy National Chairman of the Party, Dr Maishaq Abdul declared that the Party was going into the election to win without dishing out to the Electorate.

Chief Falae stated ‎the Party painstakingly conducted a rancour-free primary in Osun state which eventually produced Senator Omisore the electorate to be convinced that the SDP was ready to change the faces of bad governance in the State.

In his remark, Omisore pledged that if elected the next governor of the state he would block all the avenues of financial wattages in the state such as contact inflations, duplication of contracts and initiation of white elephant projects.
