NSCDC acquires equipment for intelligence gathering
Kaduna state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has acquired new equipment to enhance intelligence gathering for personnel.
The equipment acquired include: intelligence gathering equipment, anti-riot helmets, stun guns, body armours, anti-riot shields, vehicle scanners, metal detectors and anti-vandalism wares.
Speaking during the distribution of the equipment, the state commandant, Alhaji Modu Bunu, said the equipment are aimed at boosting the performance of officers and men.
He appreciated the Commandant-General, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, for his determination to transition the corps while he warned the officers and men against misuse of the equipment and tools entrusted in their care.
"The procurement of the items has placed huge financial cost on government whose focus is aimed at addressing security challenges bedevilling the nation. With the distribution of these equipment, you must rededicate yourselves to duties and redouble your efforts in justifying the huge expenditure incurred in procuring the items," he urged.
He however expressed optimism that with the supply, significant improvement is expected in the area of surveillance, intelligence, anti-vandalism, crowd control and combat operations.
