Kukah donates relief materials to Katsina flood victims




Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Dioceses Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah yesterday commiserated with the government and people of Katsina State over the recent flood disaster in Jibia Local Government Area.


The bishop donated relief materials to victims of the flood which claimed over 50 lives and prayed for God’s intervention.

  “You can never really prepare adequately for disasters, especially those ones that are natural occurrence whose source is beyond human comprehension,” he stated.

Kukah, represented by Rev. Father Lawrence Emehel of the Dioceses Justice, Development and Peace Centre (JDPC), also prayed for the souls of the deceased.

Katisna State Governor Aminu Bello Masari thanked Kukah and the Christian community for their show of brotherliness and thoughtfulness. 

The governor, represented by the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, Aminu Waziri  Masari  also thanked the  federal government and Nigerians for their support and prayers.
